RONNIE & KATHY AT THE RAIL |
MEXICAN RESTAURANTS:
Uncle Julio's on the Dallas Tollway @ Keller Springs
El Fenix on Colorado Blvd. in Oak Cliff
The Roadhouse Grill on Denton Tap @ Sandy Lake Road in Coppell.
They have a great Chicken Sizzle Platter that is plenty for two people to enjoy.
Razzoo's in Sundance Square in Ft. Worth. There are
other locations, but we ventured into this mostly seafood restaurant with a group of friends one evening before a play.
Since we don't like seafood, we were a little apprehensive that there would be something on the menu we could eat other than
a small dinner salad. We were pleasantly surprised with several options available and they were very tasty.

OUR FRIENDS LJ & DARLENE...SHE PLAYS BASE GUITAR AND HE PLAYS A BLUES HARP AT THE FRIDAY NIGHT JAM. |
DINING & DANCING: Carson's Palace on the Dallas
Tollway @ Trinity Mills...nice dance floor and they have a wide range of music depending on the band on any given night. Check
out their menu, we enjoyed a glass of White Zinfandel and one of their famous appetizers...Southwestern Spring Rolls...actually,
spinach tortilla with a spicy stuffing and a sauce for dipping.
SUNDAY NIGHT BLUES JAM: The Baja California Grill on Midway
at Beltway just South of Beltline Road in Addison. Robin Banks, who is a great blues singer, jams every Sunday night.
We enjoyed a hamburger while sitting on the patio that has a nice mister to cool a warm August night.
British Rose located on Forest @ Greenville is an upscale
British pub or in the US it would be called a blues and sports bar & grill. Good food and good blues bands
play there regularly. Very small dance floor. The dance floor also doubles for a dart game or two - obviously,
not while the band is playing or anyone dancing! Whoops...

CAROL & GRANT ...AKA PRISCILLA & ELVIS...? |

ON THE ROAD...
NEW ORLEANS, LA: Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Bar & Grill
just north of Jackson Square. We just had to have a little Crispy Fried Alligator, a salad and of course, a margarita
@ Jimmy's place. We also enjoyed a Kentucky family Bluegrass Band...check out the girl on the washboard - WOW she could
really keep the beat!
AUSTIN, TX: The Iron Cactus patio upstairs overlooking 6th
Street (aka Little Bourbon Street) home of many clubs which are favorite night spots of the college kids...and we did find
a couple of good blues clubs.

RICHARD & SUE...THEY ARE THE NEWLYWEDS...SHE WAS 1999 MS. TEXAS SENIOR |
HOUSTON, TX: For a quick breakfast you need to stop by The
Kolachi Factory on Westheimer...it will be hard to choose just one or two items. Then for dinner, we recommend
The Old San Francisco Steak House, also on Westheimer just down the street from our favorate Melody Lane Ballroom.
We went there to celebrate after our very first dance competition when we took 2nd Place in the Newcomer Novice category back
in 1993. We remember wearing our Olympic-like medallions around our neck and everyone asked us what we won...we were
HOT STUFF!!!
(...they are not open any longer)

TOM & DONNA...SHE MAKES THE BEST BROWNIES! |
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC: On the beach, at Ocean Drive @ Main
Street, it's The Sunset Grill with the best hot dogs in town. There is a sandy dance floor with a DJ
playing all that great beach music anytime of the day and late into the evening. We enjoyed people walking along the
beach and stopping to watch us do our thing on the boardwalk...what great fun!
ALBUQUERQUE, NM: After an awesome tram ride to the top of Sandia
Peak there is a restaurant that you shouldn't miss with it's scenic panorama views on both sides of the
mountain. This mountain top overlooks the quaint city of Albuquerque and on a clear day you can see for miles.
Be sure you take your camera.
Oh and you must stop by the square in Albuquerque or
Santa Fe and make a purchase or two - the Indians lay their handmade silver turquoise jewelry on their blankets around
the square. It is hard to make a decision on what to buy, so Kathy just had to get a few choice
pieces. And of course, Ronnie couldn't decide which Howling Coyote to buy, so he got several.
...but according to Ronnie, her's cost more.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND: Duke's Roadhouse Grill on Beltline
@ Midway in Addison. We found the service to be non-existent. So we left before we could chance trying any food
on the menu.
We also, do not recommend any seafood restaurants, unless of course, it's Captain D's or any good seafood
restaurant that serves fish that looks and tastes like chicken!
