January, 2003...
What a fabulous international event...
7,500 competitors from 14 different countries.
This is truly the Olympics of Country Dancing.
A week long event with continuous
competitions & workshops in 4 different ballrooms...
Definitely something for everyone.
We competed for the first time in this international event and placed First in Triple Two-Step; however,
didn't place in the overall. We still felt good about our first world competition and there is always next year...we
will be there.
The Opryland Cenvention Center
located within the Opryland Resort.
This is where the competition was held.
Waltz is Queen of the Country Dance Competition.
This is a beautiful dance, but it is a very difficult one
with the definite rise and fall and graceful flow of the
Heel, Toe, Toe...
When in Nashville, you must go to the Grand Ole Opry. The Opry has a new complex near the Opryland
Resort; however, over the Christmas season it is moved to the original location at the Ryman Auditorium downtown.
We enjoyed several classic country stars; such as, Porter Wagoner (pictured here), Bill Anderson, Hank Williams, III and new
recording artist, Joe Nichols just to name a few.

The Opryland Resort...a city within a dome - simply wonderful
with it's many fine amenities...waterfalls, lush greenery, riverwalk, great shops and restaurants...something for everyone..

Bronze statue of Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff in the
lobby of the Ryman Auditorium...the original location of the Grand Ole Opry. And we were there to see Bill Anderson,
Porter Wagoner, Little Jimmy Dickens, Hank Williams, III, Joe Nichols, John Connally among others.

Below is the River that runs through the Opryland Resort complex. A nice leisurely boat ride tops off
a great day of competing, shopping and sightseeing in this wonderful city.
The view from our private balcony on the top floor of the Opryland Resort.
...this is a city within a dome.
